About these terms
These terms apply when you browse or use mattg.com.au, including its free website checker, forms and public information. The website is operated by Matt G, an independent web developer based in Melbourne, Australia. If you have questions, email matt@mattg.com.au.
The free website checker
You may submit the address of a public website that you are authorised to have checked. The tool performs automated, limited checks using public pages, DNS information and third-party tools such as Google PageSpeed Insights and the W3C validator. Do not submit passwords, private URLs, confidential tokens or other sensitive information in the address.
The results are an informational snapshot, not a full security assessment, penetration test, accessibility certification, legal compliance review or guarantee of rankings, conversions or future performance. Services can time out, be unavailable or give different results between runs. Findings may need human review, and some tests only examine a small sample of pages.
Please use the checker reasonably. Do not use automated bulk requests, attempt to bypass rate limits or security controls, or try to cause the service to request private systems or other restricted resources. I may limit access where necessary to protect the site or others.
Website reports and email
The checker can show initial results without registration. To see the remaining report, you may be asked for an email address; when available, the system emails you a link to your report and sends me a notification. Reopening the link can run a new check rather than reproduce an identical historical report. See the privacy policy for how these details are handled.
If you send an enquiry or project brief, I will use the details to discuss your request. Submitting a brief, receiving a report or receiving a reply does not by itself establish a paid client relationship.
Quotes, projects and payments
Information about website pricing, turnaround and services is general guidance, not a binding quote or an offer to undertake a particular job. The final scope, price, timing, milestones, ongoing costs, handover and any other conditions for paid work must be separately agreed in writing.
Any written project agreement takes precedence over these website-use terms where the two conflict. This site does not currently sell services through an online checkout.
Accuracy, links and other services
I try to keep this site useful and accurate, but its content may change or contain errors. Links to services such as Google, Cloudflare or other projects lead to separate websites with their own terms and privacy practices. I do not control their availability, content or policies.
You are responsible for deciding whether any recommendation or audit finding is appropriate for your own website. For matters involving security, accessibility, privacy, consumer law or other regulation, consider advice from a suitably qualified professional.
Intellectual property
Unless otherwise noted, text, layout, brand assets and original materials on this site belong to me or are used with permission or under an applicable licence. You may view and link to the site for ordinary personal or business purposes. You must not present the website or its branding as your own. Any third-party marks, tools, photos and other material remain subject to their owners’ rights and applicable licences.
Availability and liability
I may update, interrupt or discontinue a website feature, including the free checker, without guaranteeing that it will always be available or error-free. To the extent permitted by law, I am not responsible for losses arising solely from reliance on an automated check or temporary service unavailability. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded, including applicable Australian Consumer Law guarantees.
Law, updates and contact
These website-use terms are intended to be interpreted under the laws applying in Victoria, Australia, subject to any mandatory rights that apply elsewhere.
